BODYGUARD - The Musical, based on one of the biggest cinema blockbusters of all time, had its Austrian premiere on 27 September 2018 at the Ronacher in Vienna.
BODYGUARD – THE MUSICAL
At the Ronacher, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW) staged the international hit production BODYGUARD - THE MUSICAL, which is based on one of the greatest blockbusters of all time.
Spectacular choreographies, the songs of the "Grammy" award-winning film soundtrack and many more international hits - sung in English - guarantee the audience a first class live experience. The thrilling, soulful story of the musical and songs like One Moment in Time, I Want to Dance With Somebody, I Have Nothing, Queen of the Night, The Greatest Love of All or Saving All My Love are sure to give the audience goosebumps. One of the most moving ballads of all time, I Will Always Love You, completes an unforgettable theater evening.

We were part of the rehearsal of BODYGUARD at the Ronacher. VBW musical director Christian Struppeck, associate director Frank Thompson, as well as the soloists and the great ensemble gave their first insights into the international production of success.

Due to the enormous audience success and a total of over 30,000 tickets sold, the VBW’s internationally successful production ELISABETH, penned by the successful duo of Michael Kunze & Sylvester Levay, will also be performed next year from the 29th of June to the 1st of July 2023 as an exceptional concert experience in the grand forecourt of Schönbrunn Palace.
The famous historical setting provides a unique and dignified backdrop for the concert version of the musical, which tells the dramatic and moving story of the life, loves and tribulations of Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
