The finest musical theater crossover at the Ronacher
The Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW) will present the eleventh edition of MUSICAL MEETS OPERA together with the friends of the Vienna State Opera on April 28, 2019. The popular event for music theater enthusiasts celebrates the wonderful language of the music of musical and opera, thus underlining its universality.
The stars of the current VBW hit show BODYGUARD meet stars on the opera stage.
Great pieces of music from BODYGUARD - DAS MUSICAL meet arias and duets of important, related operas, and are cleverly and amusingly interwoven. Between the musical performances, the moderations and discussions with everyone involved provide an informative and entertaining insight into the world of opera and musical stars. Thomas Denmark, General Secretary of the Friends of the Vienna State Opera, is responsible for the idea and concept and leads through the matinee in a tried and tested manner.

After Vereinigte Bühnen Wien’s great success with CATS, VBW is bringing one of the most famous musicals of all time, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, back to Vienna. Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will be brought to the Raimund Theater in spring 2024 by Artistic Director Christian Struppeck, for the first time in German-speaking countries.

From June 27 to 29, 2024, the most successful German-language musical of all time will also be seen one last time next year as an exceptional concert experience in front of the famous historical setting of the Schönbrunn Palace.
