The award

The prize is awarded in 16 categories for outstanding performances in the field of opera, operettas, musicals and ballets for the 2014/15 season. Three special prizes will also be awarded.

The following artists will appear: Dmitry Korchak, Rebecca Nelsen, Nina Proll and many more.

This event takes place in cooperation with the Echo Medienhaus.

The price

The New Sculpture, of the Austrian Music Theater Prize, was designed by Augarten Vienna and will be available under the name "Papageno" in the assortment of the Augarten porcelain manufactory from autumn 2016!

    After Vereinigte Bühnen Wien’s great success with CATS, VBW is bringing one of the most famous musicals of all time, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, back to Vienna. Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will be brought to the Raimund Theater in spring 2024 by Artistic Director Christian Struppeck, for the first time in German-speaking countries.

    Due to its great popularity, the VBW's successful production of ELISABETH will take place for the fourth and unfortunately last time in 2024 as a major concert highlight in the courtyard of Schönbrunn Palace. From June 27 to 29, 2024, the most successful German-language musical of all time will also be seen one last time next year as an exceptional concert experience in front of the famous historical setting of the Schönbrunn Palace.
