Elisabeth Engstler was born in Carinthia. In 1982, she came 9th in the Eurovision Song Contest in England and subsequently trained at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna. Productions at the Burgtheater, several CDs and the title role in the musical VALERIE followed. She joined the ORF as presenter of the TV show “Ferienexpress”, and in 1987 she became presenter of the very popular “Wurlitzer”. She has also presented the TV programme “Ich und Du” as well as the prime time shows "Die große Chance" und "Happy End". Elisabeth Engstler has also presented radio shows such as "Querstadtein" und "Autofahrer unterwegs". Since 1995, as well as appearing as an actress and singer, she has been presenter of shows like “Willkommen Österreich”, “Frisch gekocht” and the early evening magazine programme “Sommerzeit”. In 2015, she published her third cookbook, “Elisabeth Engstlers schnelle Küche”. She returned to the stage in 2012 to star in her on-going series of musical evenings.  She is also a reporter on “Heute leben”, presenting news items about people and places of interest in Austria. In 2016, she appeared in CALENDAR GIRLS as part of the Sommernachtskomödie Rosenburg.
