WE ARE MUSICAL: Big musical festival to kick off the season at the Ronacher

On 30 September 2023 the Ronacher opens its doors! Just in time for the start of the season, Vereinigte Bühnen Wien is once again hosting the big musical festival WE ARE MUSICAL, this time in and around the musical theatre in the 1st district. Visitors can expect an exciting afternoon in the historic house with glimpses behind the scenes. In addition to the first exclusive excerpts from the brand new VBW production ROCK ME AMADEUS - THE FALCO MUSICAL, guests can look forward to many other great programme items from the world of theatre.
This year, the VBW Musicalfest received an Eco-Event rating (ÖkoEvent), which identifies sustainable events as such. Compliance with the associated criteria, such as a reusable system and predominantly regional and sustainable catering, leads to a lower environmental impact and makes an important contribution to waste avoidance and resource conservation.
Open-air stage with a great programme
One week before the big gala premiere, the audience will get to see the first exclusive excerpts from ROCK ME AMADEUS - THE FALCO MUSICAL on the stage of the Ronacher. As a further highlight, musical stars will perform great musical hits on the open-air stage. The audience can also look forward to a musical dance and musical sing-along. Once again, Robert Steiner and the popular rat "Rolf Rüdiger" will be the presenters. For all younger visitors, there is also the musical corner of VBW Junges Musical. Here children are invited to do puzzles and handicrafts.
Dance workshops, face painting for children & exciting insights into everyday theatre life.
In addition to the musical programme, there are dance workshops for young and all organised by the cultural mediator VBW JUNGES MUSICAL. There is the opportunity to rehearse well-known musical choreographies. In addition, visitors can look over the shoulders of the VBW staff in their daily work and get to know the VBW orchestra better. Of course, there will be the popular face painting for children at the Musicalfest again this year.
Souvenir flea market & food truck
For all musical lovers big and small, there will also be a large souvenir flea market with great items from past productions. A food truck in front of the Ronacher will spoil visitors with a variety of delicious dishes.

Tickets for our workshops and sneak previews are already fully booked. However, as it often happens that tickets are not used and returned, there is also the possibility of obtaining a few remaining tickets on site at the information desk on 30 September. We ask for your understanding that these tickets will be allocated in the order in which they are received ("First come, first served").
