Alex Melcher Alter Ego
Since completing his acting and vocal training in Hamburg, Germany, Alex has performed on numerous German and international stages. He played Alfred in DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, directed by Roman Polanski at Vienna's Raimund Theater. In Germany he took the lead role of Mark in the German premiere of the original production of RENT, and at St. Gallen Theater in Switzerland, he played the lead in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, having already played Judas in Tecklenburg. His journey then took him to The Netherlands, where he guest starred in the role of Cousin Kevin in THE WHO´S TOMMY. He has also played the Magician in TABALUGA AND LILLI, Seymour in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Eddie in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, Whizzer in the European premiere of FALSETTOS, Jon in the German-language premiere of TICK, TICK ...BOOM !, Brian Carr in the world premiere of ROCKVILLE in Amstetten and Munich, Hedwig in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH at the Musiktheater im Revier, the The Secret Life of a Tiger at the Schmidts Tivoli theater in Hamburg and Frederick Trumper in CHESS at Theater Bielefeld, as well as a range of roles in SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, GREASE, EATING RAOUL, BLIND DATE, INTO THE WOODS, FREAK OUT and Lucheni in the hit musical ELISABETH in Essen. In 2004 he fell under the spell of Brian May and Roger Taylor and played Galileo in the Queen musical WE WILL ROCK YOU until 2011. That led Udo Lindenberg to personally invite him to perform in his musical HINTERM HORIZONT in Berlin and Hamburg in Oberhausen, where Alex played Falco in BAT OUT OF HELL, a show featuring Meat Loaf's music. Most recently he has starred at the Raimund Theater here in Vienna as Judas in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.
