Wildly successful opening night at the Raimund Theater
I AM FROM AUSTRIA, the musical by Titus Hoffmann (book & idea) and Christian Struppeck (book & creative development), featuring Rainhard Fendrich’s greatest hits, had its world premiere on 16 September 2017 at the Raimund Theater in Vienna.
The superb ensemble and soloists - Iréna Flury, Lukas Perman, Elisabeth Engstler, Andreas Steppan, Martin Bermoser, Dolores Schmidinger, Matthias Trattner, Fabio Diso and Martin Berger – were hailed with rapturous applause and standing ovations by the opening night audience.
After the highly successful performance, the cast members celebrated at the opening night party, alongside the VBW’s Managing Director, Prof. Dr. Franz Patay, the Artistic Director, Christian Struppeck, the director Andreas Gergen, and the rest of the leading team, together with guests who had attended premiere (including the Minister for Culture, Thomas Drozda, the city councillors Andreas Mailath-Pokorny and Renate Brauner, as well as Dagmar Koller, Christiane Hörbiger, Gery Keszler, Ramesh Nair, Birgit Sarata and Harald Serafin, to name but a few) and raised a glass to a successful upcoming season.
