Yesterday evening, the festive premiere of the concert performances of ELISABETH took place in a unique setting in front of Schönbrunn Palace. The impressive open-air spectacle at the original venue under the direction of Gil Mehmert and the musical direction of Carsten Paap caused enthusiasm and great jubilation. The audience appreciated the performances of the soloists Maya Hakvoort, Mark Seibert, Abla Alaoui, David Jakobs, André Bauer, Daniela Ziegler, Moritz Mausser, Hans Neblung, Katja Berg and the ensemble with minutes of applause.
The famous historical setting of Schönbrunn Palace provides a dignified and unique setting for the concert performance of the VBW hit musical penned by the successful duo Michael Kunze & Sylvester Levay, which tells the dramatic and touching story of the life, work and suffering of Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
The successful concert series will take place for another - and last - time next year. Fans can once again look forward to a concert experience in a class of its own, with top-class soloists, a wonderful ensemble, accompanied by the orchestra of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien in a large cast.
