Drew Sarich Graf Krolock
Drew Sarich was born on 24 August 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri, and trained in Drama and Dance at the Boston Conservatory, graduating in 1997. He made his European debut in 1999 playing Quasimodo in the German language premiere of Walt Disney’s THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME in Berlin. At the Raimund Theater in Vienna, he appeared as Berger in HAIR and Sun/Master of the Keys in BARBARELLA. He has played the roles of Jesus and Judas in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in a highly diverse range of productions, including a concert performance of the Viennese version at the Ronacher. He played the title role(s) in JEKYLL & HYDE in Köln and in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH in Berlin, Cousin Kevin in TOMMY in Amstetten, and the title role in the St. Gallen production of DRACULA and in IZ at the Theater im Konzerthaus in Vienna. On Broadway, he created the role of the vampire Armand in the Elton John musical LESTAT in 2005. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in JAQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS and in TONY N’ TINA’S WEDDING. Drew Sarich played Jean Valjean in the West End and Broadway productions of LES MISÉRABLES before returning to Vienna to play the lead role of Crown Prince Rudolf in the musical of the same name. At the Ronacher in Vienna, he played Count von Krolock in DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, a role he also played at the Stage Theater des Westens in Berlin until the end of January 2012. Also at the Ronacher, he appeared in the original Austrian production of SISTER ACT as Curtis Jackson and as The Phantom in the German language premiere of LOVE NEVER DIES. He created the role of Rocky in the eponymous musical at the Stage Operettenhaus in Hamburg, a part he played for the production’s entire run. He recently appeared as Che in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s cult musical EVITA at the Ronacher and is currently playing the title role in the new musical VIVALDI – THE FIFTH SEASON at the Volksoper.
