Just play, sing, dance and have fun. Do not just watch the musical, just try it yourself.
The youth development department of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien organizes the VBW MUSICAL KIDS CLUB. As part of these independently designed workshops, children between the ages of 7 and 12 are given the opportunity to take a breath of theater and immerse themselves in the world of current VBW musical productions.
They can try their hand at the disciplines of singing, acting and dancing. Each workshop has a different motto and highlights the current CATS production from different perspectives.
- It is recommended that you only take part in one workshop per topic.
- Please buy only 1 ticket per child. The VBW MUSICAL KIDS CLUB takes place without an accompanying person.
- Age: 7-12 years
- NEW: The workshops take place from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm (3 hours) in the RONACHER THEATER.
- Meeting point: RONACHER Theater side entrance, Himmelpfortgasse 25, at 9:15 a.m.
Please bring comfortable clothes, dance shoes (if available), a snack and a water bottle. (It is possible to buy food or drinks in the canteen.)

Dance and costume workshop
Dance workshop with costume workshop. What do I need to transform myself into a cat? How do I design my costume myself? How do I move as a cat, and how can I dance? Design a CATS costume according to your ideas, learn more about the Jellicle cats, and dance choreographies to your favorite songs from the Musical "CATS". Special: Make cat costume pieces yourself.
Children's Rights Workshop
Singing, dancing, acting and children's rights. Vienna is the city of children's rights. Do you know your rights Do you like to sing, dance and play and want to learn more about the musical CATS? How do the jellicle ball and the right to rest, play and artistic activity go together? In this musical workshop, children's rights are associated with the musical CATS and processed with theater educational tools. Special: The workshop will take place with a staff member of the Human Rights Office.
Stage Craft Workshop
Musical creative workshop with a focus on waste and upcycling. The inspiration for this is the CATS set design. What does the CATS dump look like up close? What actually happens to our waste? What does rubbish have to do with me and how can I avoid it? Do you like to tinker and design, and are you interested in recycling and environmental protection? We build instruments and props from waste, and use them for our vocal numbers and choreographies. Special: creative workshop with a view of the stage design.
