Thomas Borchert is one of the leading lights of the European musical scene. His roles include Frank N. Furter in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, Judas in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, Lucheni and Death in ELISABETH, Buddy in THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, Jean Valjean in LES MISÉRABLES, Leopold Mozart in MOZART!, Jekyll & Hyde in the eponymous musical, Count von Krolock in DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, The Phantom of the Opera in the Lloyd Webber musical, the title role in Wildhorn’s DRACULA, Gaston in GIGI (London) and Maxim de Winter in REBECCA. The lead role in composer Frank Wildhorn‘s THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO could have been written specially for him, and the same is true of Merlin in ARTUS-EXCALIBUR. In the German language premiere of NEXT TO NORMAL, he played Dan. At the Bad Hersfeld Festival, he appeared in the classic musical KISS ME KATE as Fred/Petruchio, and in the Viennese production of EVITA as Perón. He has also played the title role in LUTHER - REBELL GOTTES, and in October 2017 will appear in the German premiere of THE STORY OF MY LIFE in Fürth. As actor, composer and producer, Borchert staged the monologue NOVECENTO at the Hamburg Kammerspiele, where he also played the role of Anthony in the German language premiere of END OF THE RAINBOW. At the Shakespeare Festival at Rosenburg Castle (Austria), he played Theseus and Oberon in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. He conceived the musical show ROCK IT for the VBW and wrote several songs for the musical DIVAS (Vienna Metropol). He has released five albums as a singer-songwriter, and his album “Mehr als jedes Wort” was awarded the Preis der deutschen Songpoeten in 2001. He tours regularly with “Borchert Beflügelt” und “Beflügelte Weihnachten”. His current album, "Midlife", was released in March 2017.
