Titus Hoffmann translated and directed the first ever German-language production of the Pulitzer Prize and triple Tony Award-winning Broadway musical NEXT TO NORMAL, landing a hit with audiences and critics alike. He was executive producer of the CD of the original German cast live recording. In 2016, the production played in Vienna to enormous critical and popular acclaim. Titus Hoffmann wrote the lyrics and contributed substantially to the success of productions like HEIßE ZEITEN – Die Wechseljahre-Revue (which played to full houses as a visiting production in Hamburg, Zurich, Bern, Basle, Dresden, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, Vienna, etc.), MANN O MANN – Die Midlife-Crisis-Revue (which has had sell-out runs in Hamburg, Zurich and Düsseldorf, as well as - as “Wir sind mal kurz weg – Eine musikalische Midlife-Crisis” – in Dresden, Berlin and Bremen). He wrote and directed I WANNA BE LOVED BY YOU, a musical about the relationship between Marilyn Monroe and her therapist, Dr. Ralph Greenson, and as Resident & Associate Director and co-translator was involved in the first ever German-language production of Mel Brooks’ Broadway hit THE PRODUCERS at the Ronacher in Vienna and the Admiralspalast in Berlin. As Resident Director of the Schlosspark Theater in Berlin, he had previously overseen numerous productions (including Non(n)sens, Die Drei von der Tankstelle, Nachtmusik). He also worked as director and co-author on Katharine Mehrling’s new one-woman show MEHRLING AU BAR, and is currently writing the book for a new musical by the internationally renowned Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn.
