Katja Reichert is Swiss but trained in New York. After appearing in her first productions (Off-Broadway shows, independent films, experimental musical theatre), she returned to Europe, where her appearances include Luisa in THE FANTASTICKS, Irene Molloy in HELLO DOLLY, Lois/Bianca in KISS ME, KATE, Truly Scrumptious in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, and Maria in various productions of WEST SIDE STORY. Katja Reichert also feels at home in opera and operetta, and has played Gretel in HANSEL AND GRETEL, the title role in MADAME POMPADOUR, Valencienne in THE MERRY WIDOW, Christel in THE BIRD SELLER, Adele in DIE FLEDERMAUS, Eurydice in ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD and Papagena in THE MAGIC FLUTE. In the last few years, she has appeared at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the Volksoper in Vienna, Oper Graz, the Bregenz Festival, the St. Margarethen Opera Festival and and the Vienna Festival. She also performed in the VBW’s A TRIBUTE TO BERNSTEIN GALA at the Raimund Theater.
