Revival premiere of MARIA THERESIA

The cast – led by the soloists Nienke Latten, Fabio Diso, Moritz Mausser, Annemieke van Dam, Annemarie Lauretta, Arne Stephan, Andreas Wolfram, Aeneas Hollweg and Amelie Polak – shone in their roles that evening, sparking immense enthusiasm and minutes of applause from the audience at the Ronacher as the VBW’s in-house production kicked off its second season. A spectacular start to the new musical season.

MARIA THERESIA – THE MUSICAL tells the fascinating story of the legendary Habsburg monarch who guided the country through turbulent times with unshakeable courage. This opulent musical combines monumental drama with a modern sound, pulsating beats with haunting lyrics. A timeless story meets a contemporary production, creating a thrilling stage experience full of energy and surprises. With this spectacular production, we are making a powerful statement and creating a monument to the legendary ruler – young, dynamic and utterly distinctive.

The show celebrated its grand world premiere at the Ronacher in October 2024 and has been sold out almost every day since. Due to its huge success, the run has been extended and the production can now be seen at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien until June 2027.
