GRAND FINAL CONCERT BY THE MUK GRADUATES OF 2024
WE ARE MUSICAL – THE NEXT GENERATION
Yesterday, 24 June 2024, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW) and the City of Vienna’s Private University of Music and the Arts (MUK) presented WE ARE MUSICAL – THE NEXT GENERATION at the Ronacher for the sixth time. The concert, which was specially developed and jointly organised, was once again dedicated this year to promoting young talent and offered young artists the opportunity to perform on a major stage, where they could introduce themselves to a wide audience and gain valuable initial experience for their future.
STARS AND ‘THE NEXT GENERATION’ AT THE RONACHER
This year’s MUK graduates from the ‘Musical Entertainment Theatre’ course were once again supported by renowned musical theatre stars: Ana Milva Gomes and Drew Sarich. Together, they presented the audience at the Ronacher with a varied selection of numbers from the musical theatre genre. Also in attendance were the hosts: VBW Musical Director Christian Struppeck and VBW Managing Director Prof. Dr Franz Patay, as well as the Rector of the City of Vienna’s Private University of Music and the Arts (MUK), Dr Andreas Mailath-Pokorn.
The event was hosted by Alex. Riener, Head of the Musical Theatre programme, and the well-known director and MUK lecturer Werner Sobotka, who also curated the evening. A live band performed under the musical direction of Peter Uwira, himself a lecturer on the Musical Theatre programme. An evening entirely dedicated to promoting young talent, with plenty of cheers and standing ovations for the up-and-coming talents and musical stars!
