WE ARE MUSICAL – THE NEXT GENERATION 2026
On 22 June 2026, the Raimund Theater became a stage for up-and-coming musical theatre talent for one evening. The Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW) and the City of Vienna’s Private University of Music and the Arts (MUK) presented the successful concert series WE ARE MUSICAL – THE NEXT GENERATION for the eighth time.
The spotlight was on the graduates of the Institute for Musical Entertainment Theatre (MUNTER) – Paul Aschenwald, Linus Baroffio, Karo-line Chmelensky, Daniel Dittrich, Anna Hiemetsberger, Ayaka Koshida, Marcel Rathner and Isabel Saris – who presented highlights from the world of musicals in a varied programme. The concert offered an exclusive insight into their training and, at the same time, marked the transition to their professional careers.
In 2026, too, visitors were treated to some special musical moments: alongside the young talents, special guests Carin Filipčić and Lukas Perman took to the stage together with the graduates. The evening was hosted by director and MUK lecturer Werner Sobotka and Alex. Riener, director of the MUNTER Institute. A live band led by Peter Uwira provided the musical accompaniment.
The audience gave standing ovations and cheered for minutes on end for the young talents and stars.
