Dancing like the musical stars
Wiener Städtische Dance Workshop

In their long-standing partnership, Vereinigte Bühnen Wien and Wiener Städtische Versicherung not only focus on promoting art and culture, but also place emphasis on supporting children and young people. The aim is to spark an interest in art and culture at an early age, facilitate access and nurture talent.
For the seventh time, Wiener Städtische Versicherung invited 100 schoolchildren to a musical theatre performance by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien. This time, the young people had the opportunity to experience the musical I AM FROM AUSTRIA with the hits of Rainhard Fendrich at the RAIMUND THEATER. In addition, 40 schoolchildren took part in two dance workshops on the rehearsal stage of the Ronacher. Together with Georg Prohazka and Jennifer Pöll, performers in the musical, they worked on the number "Es lebe der Sport" (Long live sport) from the production. The results of the workshop were presented in a final performance. The pupils were delighted to welcome some very special guests: the stars Iréna Flury, Elisabeth Engstler and Fabio Diso from I AM FROM AUSTRIA came in person to see the choreography they had rehearsed.

The students had a unique experience at the workshop organised by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien: "Working on the choreography with the children was a great experience and we had a lot of fun. It was wonderful to see how motivated and committed everyone was. Within a very short time, the pupils rehearsed a demanding number – just like the big musical stars," enthuse workshop leaders Georg Prohazka and Jennifer Pöll about the young people's performance.
"Our young talent is very important to us. That is why promoting children and young people is a central part of Wiener Städtische Versicherung's corporate philosophy. Whether as apprentice trainers, in sports or in the cultural sector – we are a reliable partner. It is a great pleasure for us to work with Vereinigte Bühnen Wien to introduce young people to the world of theatre in a slightly different way," says DI Doris Wendler, Executive Director of Wiener Städtische Versicherung.
"I am delighted that we have been able to implement this unique project for the seventh time in cooperation with Wiener Städtische Versicherung and enable schoolchildren to attend a musical. By actively participating in the dance workshop, the children get a very special glimpse behind the scenes and can experience everyday theatre life up close. This is an experience that should maintain the young people's interest in theatre in the long term," said Prof. Dr. Franz Patay, Managing Director of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien.
Dr. Thomas Bulant, a teacher at ONMS Josef-Enslein-Platz, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to the children to attend the theatre and take part in the workshop with the following words: "The city's streetlights could have been turned off because the children's eyes were shining so brightly."
