DANCE LIKE THE STARS FROM I AM FROM AUSTRIA
Cultural education and youth development

The long-standing partnership between Vereinigte Bühnen Wien and Wiener Städtische Versicherung is dedicated to cultural education and youth development. The common goal is to make art and culture more accessible to children and young people, to spark lasting interest and to provide a space where they can discover and express their creativity and talent.
For the eighth time, Wiener Städtische Versicherung invited 100 schoolchildren from all over Austria to a theatre belonging to the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien theatre company. This time, the young people had the opportunity to experience the musical I AM FROM AUSTRIA, featuring the hits of Rainhard Fendrich, at the RAIMUND THEATER. In addition, 40 pupils had the opportunity to take part in two dance workshops on the rehearsal stage of the RONACHER.
Together with the two dance captains and musical performers Georg Prohazka and Jenny Pöll, the choreography for the hit song "Es lebe der Sport" from the production was developed. As part of a final presentation, the young people presented the results of the workshop and were delighted to welcome some very special visitors: the stars Oliver Arno, Karim Ben Mansur, Cornelia Mooswalder, Florian Klein and Barbara Castka from I AM FROM AUSTRIA came in person to see the choreography they had rehearsed.
"Through our cultural outreach, we want to spark young people's interest in musical theatre and encourage their creativity. This workshop, which is being held for the eighth time this year in collaboration with Wiener Städtische, is also part of our outreach work. By engaging the pupils with our production, music, acting and dance, we want to introduce them to the genre and boost their self-confidence. We also want to give them an extraordinary insight into the world of musicals," says Christian Struppeck, artistic director of the RONACHER and RAIMUND THEATRES.
"We are delighted to be implementing this fantastic project for the eighth time in cooperation with Wiener Städtische Versicherung, enabling 100 schoolchildren from all over Austria to attend a musical at our theatres. Active participation in the dance workshops gives the children scope to express their own creativity and experience theatre at first hand. It is an experience that is not only fun, but also aims to awaken and maintain young people's interest in musical theatre in the long term," says Prof. Dr. Franz Patay, Managing Director of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien.
