CATS as an inclusive school project week
VBW cultural education workshop on the subject of CATS
As part of VBW Young Musical, an inclusive musical project based on the current VBW production CATS will take place again this year at the Neue Mittelschule Gassergasse secondary school. This is the third time that Vereinigte Bühnen Wien has been able to realise such a cultural education project.
During a week-long workshop with the entire school, pupils aged 10 to 14 will work in a wide variety of areas under the motto "Cool Cats and Eco-Kids". As part of the lessons led by VBW Junges Musical, the children and young people will spend a whole week working on the production. They can choose the focus of the content themselves. Dance, singing, acting and, for the first time, stage design and environmental protection are available to choose from. Every day, the children dance, sing, improvise and act, and they also work together to develop choreographies. The results are recorded on video and presented at the end of the school year.
As a highlight and to mark the end of the project week, the children and young people will be able to attend the musical CATS at the Ronacher theatre. The 210 tickets have been made possible thanks to the kind support of the Federation of Austrian Industries.
