Yesterday, the Ronacher theatre once again welcomed young musical theatre talent to the stage! On this special evening, Vereinigte Bühnen Wien and the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) presented the jointly developed concert format WE ARE MUSICAL – THE NEXT GENERATION for the seventh time.

The focus was on promoting young talent from the Institute for Musical Entertainment Theatre (MUNTER). This year's MUK graduates presented highlights from the musical genre in a varied programme – an exclusive insight into their training and, at the same time, the start of their artistic future.

The young artists were supported by prominent star guests: MUK graduate Moritz Mausser, known as ‘Hans’ in ROCK ME AMADEUS – DAS FALCO MUSICAL, and chamber actress and Nestroy Prize winner Sona MacDonald joined the students on stage. As usual, director and MUK lecturer Werner Sobotka and MUNTER Institute director Alex Riener hosted the evening. Musical accompaniment was provided by a five-piece live band led by Peter Uwira.

There was minutes of applause with loud cheers and standing ovations for the aspiring musical performers and star guests. An evening dedicated to promoting young talent.

WE ARE MUSICAL – THE NEXT GENERATION is not just a concert evening, but a promise for the future of musical theatre – when young artists step into the spotlight for the first time and bring the future of this art form to life.
