For the twelfth time, Vereinigte Bühnen Wien and Wiener Städtische Versicherung placed cultural education and youth development at the centre of their long-standing cooperation. A visit to the theatre and musical workshop offered schoolchildren space for creativity, fun and enjoyment of musical theatre.

Experiencing musical theatre up close - the long-standing partnership between Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, a Wien Holding company, and Wiener Städtische Versicherung enabled 100 schoolchildren from all over Austria to do just that for the twelfth time this year. They attended the latest successful production of ROCK ME AMADEUS – THE FALCO MUSICAL by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien at the Ronacher theatre.

Getting a taste of the theatre

40 pupils were able to get a taste of theatre in an extensive musical workshop together with the cultural mediator from the VBW musical division. With the help of educational theatre games and improvisation exercises, they were able to discover and express their own creativity. The highlight was the joint development of a choreography for a number from the musical, which was shown as part of a final presentation. The participants were delighted to have a very special visitor: musical stars Moritz Mausser, Alex Melcher, Martin Enenkel, Simon Stockinger, Andreas Lichtenberger and Anna Carina Buchegger from ROCK ME AMADEUS – THE FALCO MUSICAL came along in person to lend their support. A unique experience!

  • At Wien Holding, we are committed to inspiring young people to take an interest in culture and the world of musical theatre from an early age. With their combination of workshops and theatre visits, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien create experiences that have a lasting impact – and may even inspire future talent.

  • I am delighted that we have been able to implement this project for the twelfth time in cooperation with Wiener Städtische Versicherung. Our aim is to awaken young people's interest in art and culture at an early age, to make it easier for them to access musical theatre and to offer them a special experience that will maintain their interest in theatre in the long term.

Prof. Dr. Franz Patay, Managing Director of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien
  • It is very important to us to give children and young people access to art and culture and to inspire their enthusiasm for it. Through our long-standing partnership with the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, we enable young people to experience the fascinating world of musicals up close. Participating in workshops and getting a glimpse behind the scenes not only provides unforgettable impressions, but also promotes creativity and team spirit. This project is one of the absolute highlights of our commitment.

  • Promoting young talent is an essential part of our cultural outreach. Through this partnership with Wiener Städtische Versicherung and the associated musical workshop, we are bringing musical theatre to life. It is wonderful to see how motivated and committed the students are, and we hope that this experience will stay with them for a long time and spark a lasting interest in musical theatre.
