Relaxed performance at ROCK ME AMADEUS

On Sunday, May 18, the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, in cooperation with Österreichische Autistenhilfe (Austrian Autism Aid), invited audiences to a second “relaxed performance” – this time at ROCK ME AMADEUS – DAS FALCO MUSICAL at the Ronacher Theater.
This special performance format is aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at people with disabilities or learning difficulties, as well as neurodivergent people (including forms of autism and ADHD).
At the beginning of the performance, VBW dramaturge Elisabeth Gruber welcomed the audience and presented the inclusive concept. Afterwards, the performers Moritz Mausser, Alex Melcher, Katharina Gorgi, Simon Stockinger, Konstantin Simons, and Niklas Petzer gave exciting insights into the play and presented their roles. The performance itself was celebrated by the audience with great enthusiasm and long-lasting applause – in keeping with the motto: “Musical – an experience for everyone.”
What is a “relaxed performance”?
In a “relaxed performance,” stimuli that can be overwhelming for some visitors are deliberately reduced – such as bright lighting effects, loud noises, or pyrotechnics. The auditorium remains dimly lit throughout the performance, and visitors can leave the theater at any time and take a break in a designated quiet room if necessary. Visitors can also return to their seats at any time without having to wait for an official intermission. Early admission to the theater and an extended intermission also help to avoid stress and hectic rushes. A guide in simple language is also available to help visitors prepare for the performance.
