On March 15, 2024, Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical masterpiece THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA celebrated its brilliant premiere at the Raimund Theater. Since then, the play about the mystical phantom and his great love for the young singer Christine Daaé has been thrilling audiences every night and providing magical moments, great emotions and pure goosebumps!
On Saturday, March 15, 2025, the production celebrated its first anniversary, followed by the 300th performance on Sunday. A great success for the cast and the entire production team.
Due to its great success, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has been extended by one season and can be seen at the Raimund Theater until June 2026.
A worldwide musical phenomenon
The original production is one of the most successful musicals of all time with a total of more than 160 million visitors in productions in 46 countries, 195 cities in 21 languages and as the winner of over 70 of the most important theater awards (including 4 Olivier Awards, 7 Tony Awards, 7 Drama Desk Awards and 5 Outer Critic Circle Awards). The original Broadway production broke all box office records at the end of its 35-year run and the London production is now in its 38th year.
