THE VISIT – the musical
Great world literature as an opulent musical thriller
THE VISIT – the musical, based on the play by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, is about the billionaire Claire Zachanassian who returns to her impoverished hometown of Güllen after decades and offers the citizens a donation of two billion euros on one condition: the death of her former lover Alfred Ill. Christian Struppeck (book), Moritz Schneider / Michael Reed (music) and Wolfgang Hofer (lyrics) have taken on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's dramatic story and transformed it into a poignant, modern musical thriller, with lush, but also rocky melodies and suspenseful, pointed lyrics. The red-hot story of love, revenge and betrayal leaves no one cold. Melodies full of symphonic power and witty, poignant dialogue merge into an extraordinarily emotional musical.
